If you’ve visited St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg lately, you’ve no doubt noticed an increase in activity. This week, the Foundation along with St. Anthony's leading administrators had the opportunity to guide the former Governor of the State of Florida on a tour of the hospital. Currently serving as U.S. Representative for Florida's 13th congressional district, Charlie Crist was brought up to speed on all of the renovation and expansion plans happening at St. Anthony's. The tour began with a message from Scott Smith, President of St. Anthony's Hospital; Jim McClintic, MD, Vice President of Medical Affairs; David Ball, DO, medical director of the Emergency Center; and Paul Anderson, MD, an anesthesiologist.
The building of our new Emergency Center and the addition of Suncoast Medical Clinic’s specialty physician practices on campus have contributed in large part to the hospital’s exponential increase in patient volumes. But a purposeful strategy to attract medical staff with world-class credentials also explains the need to expand facilities, especially surgery and endoscopy services.
The next three years will see a $32 million expansion in facilities and services at St. Anthony’s Hospital. These improvements will keep St. Anthony’s Hospital at the forefront of patient-centered care, as a proud partner with some of our community’s finest physicians in advancing medical excellence.
