A Gift to the Surgical Services Department

DASH Monitor with bow

At the most recent St. Anthony’s Hospital Auxiliary meeting, Kim Lemos, Director of Surgical Services, showcased a new DASH monitor her department was able to purchase thanks to the Auxiliary’s recent donation to the Foundation. The DASH monitor is used to monitor patients and can be adapted to any level of acuity so it can stay with the patient throughout the entire care continuum.

This isn’t the first time the department has received funding from the Foundation. Kim says, “Every time the Surgical Services Department purchases a new piece of equipment with funds from the Foundation, I put a big red bow on it to let staff know it was a gift from our donors.”

The impact of these bows goes beyond the aesthetics; they signify a shared journey toward better healthcare, one that is made possible by the support of those who understand the profound impact of their contributions.

In a world where medical advancements are rapid and essential, financial constraints can sometimes impede progress. That’s where the impact of philanthropy becomes even more profound. The community’s willingness to invest in healthcare not only enriches the hospital’s capabilities but also demonstrates a shared responsibility for the well-being of all its members.
