One of the most important things a hospital needs to operate is power. It is more than just keeping the lights on; surgeons need equipment to provide life saving operations’, the oncology center needs diagnostic and infusion capabilities; the list is endless.
St. Anthony’s Hospital is in Florida, which is well known for being the target of hurricanes. Hurricanes can lead to power outages, which is why St. Anthony’s Hospital decided to invest in three new generators in the event of an emergency.
These generators are housed in their own building on Fifth Avenue North. Accompanying these generators is enough alternative fuel to provide power to the hospital for four days.
This 10,500 sq. ft. Central Energy Plant is supremely technologically advanced, housing all the equipment to power the hospital in both routine and emergency times. However, this important building is yet to have a name.
If you are interested in naming opportunity for the Central Energy Plant, please contact Amy Leuschke at Amy.Leuschke@baycare.org or 727-825-1109.
