On April 20th, the St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation hosted an Under the Sea Gala at the Coliseum. From mermaids to sea creatures, attendees dressed to impress. Aerialists from Enchanted Circus gave extraordinary performances suspended from the ceiling and Tampa Bay Watch brought a touch tank of actual sea animals.
The main mission moment this year highlighted Martin Fisher, a patient, who had a STEMI heart attack. Thanks to quick thinking paramedics and an incredible cardiac team at St. Anthony’s, Martin had his artery reopened in just 26 minutes (less than one-third of the suggested time per national medical guidelines). Julie Weintraub also shared a story about her 25-year-old son, Adam, having a pulmonary embolism. Previously misdiagnosed at another hospital, St. Anthony’s was able to save Adam’s life. You can view the full story here.
Thanks to the incredible support of attendees and sponsors, the Foundation’s Under the Sea Gala raised $387,000 for St. Anthony’s Hospital.
